Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Android app Speed Test by Hostragons (package com.draconisinfrastructure.hiztesti). Effective date: 20 August 2026.

Short version

Your measurement results and settings stay on your phone. The free version displays Google AdMob ads; Pro is ad-free. The Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares the technical data described below to serve and measure advertising. Where required, consent and privacy choices are managed through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).

Data processed by the app

The app has no sign-up, sign-in, e-mail, phone or identity field. Your test history, settings and the plan speed you enter are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or tap History › Delete. Sharing a result as CSV or PDF is always your own decision.

In the free version, the Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares the IP address (which may be used to estimate the device's general/approximate location), app interactions (such as app launches, taps and video views), diagnostic and performance information (such as launch time, hang rate and energy usage), and device or account identifiers (including the advertising ID/AD_ID, app set ID and, where applicable, other identifiers related to accounts signed in on the device). Google processes these data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention.

The app does not request Android location/GPS permission, but that does not prevent AdMob from estimating approximate location from the IP address. Consent or opt-out choices are provided before advertising where required. When Pro is active, the app does not request ads.

What happens during a test

• Your phone sends and receives random bytes to and from speedtest.hostragons.com. The request body contains no name, e-mail, measurement history or other information you entered.
• As with every request on the internet, your request reaches the server with your IP address. We do not attach it to the measurement, we do not log or store it, and we do not use it to identify you.
• To prevent abuse, a per-minute request counter is kept per IP address. That counter deletes itself after 2 minutes and is used for nothing else.
• The provider name and the test node code (for example IST) shown on screen are derived on the fly from the request's own network attributes, displayed to you and not stored on the server. No city or location information is sent to the app.
• There is no measurement record, user profile, cookie or analytics on the server side.

Site test

When you type a web address, your phone connects directly to that address; the address is not sent to us and does not pass through our servers. The timings are shown only on your phone.

Permissions

The app's own source manifest declares internet access, network state, Wi-Fi state and advertising identifier (AD_ID). In the merged Android package, Google advertising and Play Billing dependencies may also add Privacy Sandbox ad ID/attribution/topics, billing, wake lock and foreground service permissions. None of these asks the user for Android location permission.

The app does not request Android location/GPS permission, and the app code does not read GPS location, the connected Wi-Fi network name/identifier or nearby networks. AdMob may still estimate approximate location from the IP address. The app requests no contacts, calendar, photos, camera, microphone or file permission.

Advertising and third parties

The free version contains Google AdMob advertising. The app has no separate Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics integration, but AdMob includes its own ad measurement, analytics and attribution components. Measurement infrastructure

The measurement endpoint runs on a global edge network so that the test node is usually close to you. That infrastructure only carries the measurement traffic and acts on our behalf; it does not build a profile about you for its own purposes. The infrastructure provider may keep short-lived technical logs to operate the service and prevent abuse.

Children

The app is not directed to children. It asks for no account, name, e-mail or date of birth. In the free version, the Google Mobile Ads technical data practices described above apply.

Your rights

You can delete measurement records stored on your device from the app; the measurement server does not retain your results. Where required for AdMob, use the app's Privacy options entry point and your Google account/ad settings. For a data-processing or deletion request, write to support@draconisinfrastructure.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page is updated and the effective date is renewed.
